Who am I?
I am not a politician. I have never run for office nor worked on anyone else’s campaign. I am not angry or surprised that the choices I’ve made have not made me wealthy. I am sometimes annoyed at people who seem to believe that America owes them a living. I’m counting on the Social Security I earned to add some wiggle to my retirement. I am neither communist nor MAGA. I’m an unremarkable American, patriotic enough to get teary during the national anthem and not always confident in our direction as a nation.
I have read more books than most, including a majority of the banned ones. I can put Ukraine and the other countries of Europe on a map. I think I understand the Constitution. I have a passport and have experienced the advantages and disadvantages of life in other countries. I believe in manners, in accountability, in kindness, in strength, and in our shared responsibility to leave the world a little better than we found it.
I believe that what happens in elections is that the people speak about the kind of country they want to inhabit. Living in a democracy is supposed to mean respecting the will of the majority. I see an opportunity -– and a duty -– to contribute to Elonica. Despite my initial reluctance to bid farewell to the country I have known, I am drinking the Kool-Aid. I can be a voice of support as we do a hard reboot.

Our transition from America to Elonica is opening a brave new world. Change requires us to suspend disbelief, to make room for the many promised improvements in our lives and to record and celebrate these improvements. Individual tales of woe or glee are best viewed within a broader picture of what’s happening. Data matter. I can help there.
Our Leader and the president he purchased speak for a formidable collection of Elonicans. He has cobbled together a coalition of the most wealthy, the least employed, the most devout, the least well educated, and the most tech-addicted. To honor these important voices, we must check in regularly with the constituencies who have given us the gift of Elonica. I can help there too.
The plan is to publish every Wednesday, updating data and topics of interest weekly and sharing thoughts about the progress we are making. In this small way, I hope to help in giving Elonica all of the attention it deserves. (If you are viewing this on a phone, click the navigation box at the top to reach other page links).
